I'm Andrew. One year ago, I turned 30. At 5'8, 230 lbs. of pure fat, I was officially morbidly obese. I had tried every fad diet and weight loss pill on the market, but nothing worked. Today, I weigh 145 lbs. This website is about how I did it.
Before we go any further, let's get these out of the way...
None of them work.
Well that's obviously bullshit. Of course starvation leads to weight loss.
Two words: Holocaust Survivors.
Holocaust survivors weren't skinny because they were power-walking around Nazi-occupied Poland. They were skinny because they were starving. Eating less calories than your body needs to maintain its present state will result in weight loss whether you exercise or not.
Your body isn't going to go into starvation mode just because you neglect to stuff your fat face for a few hours.
If you eat less calories than your body needs to maintain its present state, you will lose weight. WHEN or HOW OFTEN you consume those calories is irrelevant.
So if you like eating 5-6 small meals a day, then eat 5-6 small meals a day. If you prefer to eat 3 square meals a day, then eat 3 square meals a day. If you prefer to eat 1 giant meal at midnight, no problemo.
If you eat less calories than your body needs to maintain its present state, you will lose weight. WHEN or HOW OFTEN you consume those calories is irrelevant.
If you like eating breakfast, eat breakfast. If you prefer to skip it, then skip it.
Complete and utter bullshit.
This program requires that you count calories. If you're too lazy to count calories, kill yourself. I mean, there's lazy and then there's lazy. It's one thing to be too lazy to jog or do pull-ups. But how much of a fat tub of lard do you have to be to be too lazy to write numbers?? That doesn't even involve your cardiovascular system. All you have to do is write numbers with your hand for goodness sakes. If you're too lazy to do that, please cut your head off.
"But I can keep track in my head--" It's not just about keeping track, you idiot. Physically logging your calories helps you control your appetite and resist temptation. You know what? Forget it. Stay fat, jack-ass.
Track and log your calories each time you eat or drink. Write them down in a Food Diary, Spreadsheet, or an iPhone APP-- whatever is most convenient for you.
Multiply your current body weight x 10 (for males) or x 8 (for females).
That's your Daily Calorie Limit. If you eat at or around that amount each day, you will lose weight. Even if you sat on your fat ass all day, you'd still lose weight. It doesn't matter what you eat, when you eat, or how often you eat-- as long as you eat less than your Daily Calorie Limit-- you will lose weight.
You should weigh yourself at the same time every morning, preferably after you pee and poop.
Keep in mind that some day-to-day fluctuation in weight is to be expected. You may gain or lose as much as 1-4 lbs. from day-to-day due to:
However, your weight should be going down over the course of time. If it isn't, then you're doing something wrong.
You don't have to exercise to lose weight. However, you should do some cardio and resistence training if:
If you're too ashamed to jog or go to the gym, you can do the following exercise programs from home (I personally use these):
It is tremendously difficult to eat less than your Caloric Maintenance Level for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, it's important you diet in 2-3 month cycles. At the end of each cycle, take a week or two off. Relax, eat normally, pig out a little. Start again.
It might help to time these breaks with birthdays, vacations, etc.
If you do the above, you will lose weight. Simple as that.
Check with your Doctor.
I took:
Eat whatever you want as long as you eat less than your Daily Calorie Limit

I'm not a Doctor. I'm just a guy who used to be morbidly obese. What worked for me may not work for you-- in fact, it's possible that my advice may kill you blah blah blah, so make sure to check with your Doctor first.
